What was the purpose of Ellie being sent with Joel to trek access the country? On the finale, Marlene comments she is somewhat surprised they made it there when she barely did with 5 guards. There is literally nothing about the area or hospital they travel to that is special and couldn't be replicated closer to the Boston QZ. Why risk Ellie, the most valuable person on the planet to their knowledge, on a journey across a post-apocalyptic country where her odds of surviving are conveyed as being slim, when they could have just sent one of the damn neurosurgeons TO her instead. Literally everyone relevant had to schlep to Salt Lake City when they could have done the reverse and only endangered one valuable resource instead of the only irreplaceable one? Yes, I know Ellie couldn't really stay in the Boston QZ (although that could have been changes if the situation was just handled better.... for example, immediately dumping her on someone else like Joel who isn't closely involved with the Fireflies but still able to protect her, therefore taking all the unnecessary heat off of her), but wouldn't staying nearby until the quack doctor arrived be the better option since Joel and Tess obviously know the terrain in the immediate vicinity very well? It just seems like a ridiculous amount of risk that had very little purpose when other less risky options were available.

Hey, first of all, I want to point out that this post is going to be... Peculiar. I don't usually like to open up to others, but this is going to be very therapeutic. I also want to emphasize that I believe (or at least I try to believe) in hope, which is why, although this post may not be the happiest, it won't necessarily be a depressing one (I try to fight against those negative feelings and for now I'm doing pretty well I think).
Let's start from the beginning. I'm not a special person like those who become famous due to their heroic stories or their lives full of challenges, no, actually I would say I'm quite a privileged person: I've access to a good education, I don't have much of a problem with money and, I might sound egocentric, but I am a person who is already quite successful in an academic sense for his age. (this is when you ask yourself "Wait, how old is this guy??", sorry dude, I'm 16, you're listening to the problems of a teenager, a privileged teenager xD).
So where is the problem?? Well, there really isn't just one problem, as I like to say, if it were that simple, we wouldn't be talking about it. I will try to synthesize my ideas in a way that is easy for the reader, but I don't promise anything.
First of all, anxiety has me on the brink of collapse. I don't have time to be a person, mainly for two reasons: I have a lot of responsibilities (I know many people have more), and I don't allow myself to disconnect. Regarding studies, languages are difficult (中文非常难), double degrees consume all my time, and scholarships are stressful. If we talk about disconnection, well, I get nauseated just thinking about it, even if I want and need to rest, I don't allow it, because it hurts me a lot (I'm a productivity junkie, how funny :D).
If we talk about more specific problems, well, I would point out that my social and love life has been quite "special", and I have had to deal with depression, drugs (I want to emphasize that I don't use drugs, that would be hitting rock bottom, and would make me feel like complete shit) and suicide attempts in my environment... It's no fun having to beg the other person to drop the fucking pills.
I would also point out that I hate being at home (I think that's why I like studying so much, because it allows me to disconnect from my problems). I'm tired of being humiliated almost daily. I don't want to look like a victim, I've never liked that role, even less the martyr, but I don't think I deserve this. Below I will offer a little list of some of the words and other things that I have to deal with on a regular basis:

It's a lot of fun, don't you think? Ha, now I remember the other day when I almost had to sleep in the street because they were going to throw me out of the house at 11 pm. I think it's obvious why I don't feel comfortable with them, although I try daily to meet their expectations to... Not end up even worse.
I want to emphasize that not everything is bad. Writing and music make me feel alive, learning drives me crazy, I love popular science and sports (years ago I was pretty good, I won many championships, now I'm flabby, I don't have time or motivation). And of course this community also helps me A LOT.

Me 31F have been with my partner 31M for about 9 years now.
Backstory: we both live in UK, bur we’re not originally from UK. I emigrated here in 2010, him in 2012 and we met at work.
I have 2 parents and 2 older siblings. My sister lives in UK, my brother lives in my home country with his family.
Now, I can’t say I had the worst family experience, but it wasn’t the best. I was the youngest child, not particularly wanted at that point, because my parents already had my brother and sister. And I felt that during my childhood. My brother abused me physically and mentally since I was a little child, my father didn’t give a damn, and my mother was always angry at me and my sister for literally everything, nothing we ever did was good enough. Also, my parents were always in some sort of debt, we never had nice things, I barely got any presents, and if I ever got one, I was made feeling extremely guilty about it afterwards. So, me and my sister moved out of family home and moved to UK at the first possible opportunity. I promised myself I will not live like my mother, with a man she resents and forever in debt.
Fast forward now, I am pretty much my mother, and in my lowest moments it makes me not want to wake up in the morning.
I was at university and working part time when I met my current partner, he was working full time. When I graduated, we were dating for couple of years and decided to rent a place together. I was currently in debt due to being a broke student, and moving together made my financial situation worse, but manageable, because I landed full time position shortly after graduating. He however decided he wanted to go to Uni as well, which meant for the next 4 years we would live on a full time and part time salary, and our debt increasing. Couple of years forward, I noticed he started receiving some letters in the post which he proceeded to immediately hide from me. That lasted for few months, so I decided to investigate what is happening. I just want to point out, that any talk about money, finances or moving out from UK were met with instant anger. He knew I don’t want to stay in UK and wanted to move out as soon as possible, and knew financial stability is important to me. Anyway, to my shock I found out he took out some debts behind my back, it was about £2500 at that time. He was also paying for a phone contract he didn’t use cause he was too lazy to cancel it. I challenged him on it, I was understanding etc and he promised me he won’t do it again. Not even a week later he took another payday loan for £300. I asked him why he did it and he said ‘I don’t know’. Then gave me a sob story that his mother might have cancer (which she hasn’t , she is quite sickly and her having a potential cancer happened quite often since then). I was questioning my relationship at that point, but decided to stay cause I thought he might change and be more open with money, and be careful. Fast forward another couple of years, he says he wants a child. I never liked kids, I was very awkward around them, didn’t know what to do, and I enjoyed being child free. However, a year later I caved in and got pregnant, because I thought we will have the opportunity to create a loving family on our terms. Shortly before our child was born, I took a consolidation loan to replace our high interest debt and ease the repayments, which now I know was a mistake. Our daughter was born in the beginning of Covid lockdown, I had to give birth and stay in hospital on my own. During his paternity leave he was helping me with the baby, but when he came back to work, his help was less and less. He stopped waking up at night to help, he changed less and less diapers. During this time he also got a promotion at work (he was back doing full time work for some time now), however it meant relocating to another part of the country. We wouldn’t find house to move into in time, so for couple of months he had to drive to a new location. We decided that it was safer for him to stay there during the week and come back on the weekends. I thought he would do it the cheapest way possible with room share schemes etc, but he got mad and said ‘he won’t live with some random people’, and proceeded to stay in hotels, which as you can guess wasn’t cheap. So, the credit card debts I consolidated meant nothing at this point, cause now we had a loan and his credit card which was now getting full. We finally moved, and this is where everything went downhill. He wouldn’t spend any time with his child, every time he came back from work he was stressed, tired and pissed off, every time I asked him something he would literally bite my head off, even over smallest things. Every 5 min he had, he went upstairs and sat in front of a PC watching some YouTube videos, he even took meals with him. So at this point I was doing 100% of childcare, walks, house cleaning, cooking, I was also exercising and dieting to lose baby weight, AND I came back to work. I started to resent him at this point and pretty much stopped speaking to him, cause I had enough of being talked to like trash. Things got little better when daughter got bigger, he spends more time with her, but I still do almost everything and work full time now. Around 1,5 year ago I noticed some similar patterns that happened before - bunch of letters being hidden and his refusal to talk. It continued to the point where he was always short on money after each pay day, even though he earned more than me. So me, on top of the bills I pay from my salary (which leave me with less than £50, I somehow had to fork out 300-500 each month just so we can have food on the table. So by now, my credit card was also full again (also, the loan). So I investigated again (yes I looked through his emails and I’m not sorry, he broke my trust before), and I was mortified. Turns out he owns money to 10+ different companies and debt is more than 11k. I almost had a heart attack to be fair.
So, I am here looking after the child he wanted and I’m tits deep in debt.
Now this is where my problem lies: I am afraid of confrontation. I’m scared of fights and making people angry etc so I still haven’t said anything to him. I want to leave him at this point but I’m scared to have that conversation. I am also waiting for ADHD assessment, which might explain a lot of behavioral problems I face daily. I’m also scared how will I make it alone financially with the child.
I don’t know why I’ve written this post, I know what needs to be done, but I’m so scared to do it I prefer to just wait it out. If someone can give me some logical explanation and solution to the situation I would be grateful.

Hotpalming was the final nail in the coffin of my youth. Even with tattoos up my arms and piercings in both ears, the pain this trend involved was beyond my comprehension.
Like all fads, the beauty was in the simplicity. If you had access to a mug, some boiling water, and instant coffee, you could join the club. You did not even need to drink the coffee. Just take the pain.

Eain Yow NG was a surprise for me this tournament and the past one. He is gifted with his racket skills. I feel he could mature into a top 5 player if he keeps at it.

can someone explain to me how i won all 5 matches in a series(and i played very nicely, even carried some matches) made enough points for a rank up attempt to S and proceeded to lose ALL 3 MATCHES in all 3 having the overall splatter medal. i cant with this game anymore. this was i think my 5th rank up attempt and each time it has been the same. the fact i have to depend on the idiotic matchmaking is just complete bs and i legit do not know what else to do. i feel like im a good enough player when im around others to more or less my skill level. but each time when it comes to rank up attempt im placed with obvious children or people who have no idea how to play against japanese players and nothing personal to no one but WHEN IS IT MY TURN HELLO

Yesterday I finally decided to post pictures of myself fully dressed up as a femboy on my main IG account which can be seen by everyone I know irl (including from school). I was debating it for days but ultimately decided to in the end because I know I looked cute in them and that it takes more courage and "masculinity" (the way it is traditionally viewed, anyways) to be able to post pictures of yourself wearing girl clothes as a guy, than to be so afraid of it that you would avoid it at all costs.
I was so nervous after posting it yesterday that I couldn't bring myself to even open IG until past midnight, and even then, I only checked for less than 2 minutes. I could tell the post was popular and shared places because I received follow requests from people (mostly girls) who had never followed me before but were part of popular friend groups in my school. I haven't checked my DMs or comments on the post yet but I was told by a close friend of mine that the comments were all good.
Anyways, I'm posting this here now because I woke up this morning and came to a realisation that I'm happy with what I did, I felt it was the right thing to do. When I look back on it in the future, I'll have no regrets, and be happy that I had the courage to go against the gender norms I disagree with in front of everyone I knew in real life.

There are numerous factors that have played a part in the sudden catapulting of Aston Martin into a podium finisher this F1 season.
From a team that finished seventh in last year’s constructors’ championship, to suddenly possessing the second-quickest car on the grid has been eye-opening, to say the least, and has most definitely caught the likes of Mercedes, Ferrari, and Alpine by surprise.
Make no mistake, Fernando Alonso’s back-to-back third places in the opening two races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia were no fluke.
Crucially for Aston Martin, Alonso’s performances, and those of team-mate Lance Stroll to a lesser extent as he continues to recover from injuries sustained in a pre-season cycling accident that included a double wrist break, were on very different tracks.
The Bahrain International Circuit is a mix of low- and high-speed corners, and with an abrasive asphalt that quickly degraded the tyres on many cars. In contrast, the Jeddah Corniche Circuit is high-speed, and with a smooth surface.
In the space of two weekends, Aston Martin had shown its AMR23 is a car for all venues this season, and that it can expect many more podiums to come.
There is now a cast of 800 overseeing the project, a steep rise from the 450 in the days when the team was latterly known as Racing Point, its interim moniker following owner Lawrence Stroll’s takeover of Force India.
Stroll’s backing, and that of his consortium, has naturally been instrumental in turning a team that so often punched above its weight into one that is becoming the powerhouse he had planned for when he took up the reins.
The billionaire businessman has put his money where his mouth is, putting in place the infrastructure required for the building of a new factory, wind tunnel and simulator, all of which are still under construction but are soon due to play their part in the ongoing transformation of the Silverstone-based organisation.
Stroll has also set about recruiting some of the best talents in the industry, notably Dan Fallows from Red Bull, formerly that team’s chief engineer of aerodynamics for eight years, and now Aston Martin’s technical director.
Additionally, Eric Blandin from Mercedes where the Frenchman was chief aerodynamicist for almost five years before making the switch and now working as Fallows’ deputy.
The duo took up the development of this season’s car from Andrew Green, the team’s long-time technical chief but who stepped back earlier this year to take on a role overseeing the company’s technology business.
Explaining what Fallows and Blandin have brought to the party, speaking to a select group of media, including Speedcafe, Aston Martin performance director Tom McCullough said: “This year’s car, throughout last year, was very much under Andrew Green’s leadership.
“He got Dan and Eric up to speed from a performance development and aero development side of things, and they’ve largely been very happy with what they’ve seen – the tools, the people.
“We were onto a path even before those guys turned up, but they’ve just brought another level of experience and knowledge from two of the best teams – Mercedes and Red Bull.
“They were there a long time and they have brought a lot of understanding and experience from there, and that’s just how it has evolved, how we work, that relentless push.”
In the wake of Alonso’s third place in Bahrain, the comments aired by senior figures from Red Bull – team principal Christian Horner, advisor Helmut Marko, even driver Sergio Perez – were unkind.
Marko went so far as to suggest that it was nice to see three Red Bulls on the podium, whilst Horner, in referencing last season’s RB18, said it was “good to see the old car going so well”.
The inference with such a remark was that the AMR23 was virtually a copy of a car that last year won 17 of 22 grands prix.
There are, however, considerable differences between the two cars, with McCullough adamant that despite Fallows’ former allegiance to Red Bull, and in working alongside renowned designer Adrian Newey, such remarks from Red Bull are just “white noise”.
“Both of them when they came, one from Red Bull, one from Mercedes, were very much of the opinion – and Dan said it first – that we want to do things the Aston Martin way,” said McCullough.
“That means listening to everything, to all the people internally, getting the input from two different ways of developing a car, and then looking at where we need to improve and looking at what we think is the best way of doing that.
“So that’s one thing that Dan’s been very good at doing, just saying that you always look at what other people are doing but you’ve got to do things your own way if you want to try and beat them.
“That’s very much been Dan and Eric’s sort of mantra from the beginning, from an aerodynamic and a concept side of things, so that’s the reality and why the cars do look quite different.”
Fallows and Blandin have not only brought fresh ideas to the table, to a team it could be argued had stagnated to a degree given its former constraints but has now been unleashed under Stroll’s command.
But in tandem with the additional variety of personnel that has been brought on board over the last 18 months or so, they have instilled freedom of working, creativity, and design, that again had been confined by its own previous limitations.
“A lot of it is about creating that atmosphere, to give that creative thinking, which Dan and Eric have been very keen to do from the beginning,” remarked McCullough.
“They’ve been quite happy with the ideas and the information that have come from even existing people, and been really happy with the level of what they’ve had to work with, so I think that’s been good.
“But then that leadership, that direction, that competitiveness, and that drive is what Eric and Dan have really brought to the party.
“Last year, we started a certain way. We had developed two ways, we’d gone a certain way and it wasn’t the right way. We accepted that, we changed that.
“They then arrived during that process, and they agreed and then took hold of that and sort of rounded it.
“I think the working relationship between Dan, Eric and Andrew Green last year, plus the other senior people has been really strong.
“We were all disappointed last year when we weren’t fast enough at the start.
“Eric and Dan, as well as being very competent, very good people, they’re really decent human beings, they really want this project to work.
“So it’s actually really easy and fun to work with them.”

Today’s not off to the most excellent start, it’s fine and all I just don’t feel the best - like in my head and physically. I feel quite flat and nervous for this upcoming week and I also feel a bit headachey but more light headed than anything? I also feel very very warm - it’s 20° so not hot or anything but I just feel very warm. Which I don’t normally feel? Anyway I just feel a bit off today m. I also feel a bit irritated, like clipping my hair up as it’s annoying me when down but disliking the feeling of the claw clip holding it up so undoing it then having to redo it over and over. I’m a Canadian and I’ve been in Porto for a bit now. i just woke up, and yesterday i had one of the most amazing simping experiences i’ve ever had at one of my local malls. i walked up to two girls that were working at this little cologne and perfume shop, girl 1 was this asian american girl, with this amazing petite but still hourglass body, forget what she was wearing on top, but she had leggings on which were of course skin tight and showed off the really incredible shape of her bottom half, amazing butt, and legs. she had this absolutely beautiful face, with this beautiful smile that absolutely killed me. this other girl was also of foreign decent, forgive me but i’m not sure what the word for it would be. she had brown skin, indian or something, i also forget what this girl had on top, but she also had an amazing body, (same type as girl one) and was wearing skin tight black jeans that showed off that she also had an incredible lower half. amazing ass, god i’m going crazy just thinking about them. this girls face wasn’t as “conventionally” attractive as the first, but i personally genuinely found her beautiful, and she certainly wasn’t conventionally UNattractive. anyway, i’m going to skip most of the conversation me and these two girls had for now, but at some point during it i couldn’t help myself and i just said to girl one..
me: “would you want me to like, give you money for free?”

me: i laughed back a little and said “sure” with a smile
i took out my wallet and took out the little cash i had on me, about 7 dollars in singles. i put it on the counter which was between us, and said “this is all i have on me right now, if you want you too could split this?” we have some more conversation and at first they are trying to convince me a little bit to maybe spend my money on myself, but it didn’t take long before they were totally down with me giving it to them. finally girl one grabs the cash that was on the counter, in this absolutely adorable way that i’m not sure if i can describe with words. she did it in this fashion that gave off a feeling of bratty, inconsiderate, ungrateful.. like, after we had the discussion and i had convinced her it was OK for her to take it, she no longer felt nearly as bad about it and kind of grabbed it really quickly and gave off this high pitched “yay!” or “well, okay!”, it was something like that.
anyway, i asked for their instagrams and they both gave me theirs, to which i told them that i would def hit both of them up and asked girl one if she had cash app. “i have venmo, and i think i actually do have cashapp too,” she said in response. at some point before leaving i told girl one that she was insanely gorgeous and i would literally pay just to talk to her, which felt EXTREMELY humiliating to say. i don’t remember exactly how she responded, but i do remember she was very intrigued and not uncomfortable at all, smiling at me the whole time with that amazing smile i mentioned earlier, laughing, and telling me how sweet or kind i was. at some point i said goodbye and left. girl one ends up hitting me up on insta and sending me her cashapp, to which i immediately sent her 20 USD.

this experience was really something so crazy for me, something i can’t fully describe. but it has led me to this position where i think this may be something that i want to pursue long term, not just as a one off thing. every time i’ve tried to transform myself into an “alpha male” stud or whatever, it has always felt like i’m trying to be something that i’m not, and i always feel as if a magnet is pulling me back towards this type of life, and being this type of person. this feels like who i am naturally. being “alpha” means i have to put on an act, and it feels so wrong. i get a genuine sense of fulfillment from this, really. as crazy as that sounds.. i don’t know what to do. is this what i was born to be? should i actually accept and embrace that?

I have been thinking about making this post for a while and even though it's highly unlikely to happen on the actual show, this is a fan fiction. I think Rowan is still alive and because this is a long post it will be a 2 part post. The fan fiction starts from season 1 and my fan fiction from season 2 will be in the different post. My fan fiction highlights most of episode 1 concerning Rowan but doesn't recount detail to detail. It's probably going to sound bad but here goes.....
In Season 1, Rowan was killed by a psychotic monster later revealed to be a hyde.

When Wednesday first arrived at Nevermore, Rowan certainly took an interest to her, but not in the way you might think. A drawing from his mother who was a student at the academy 25 years ago lead Rowan to misinterpret that this goth girl would destroy the school and it’s students. He made it his mission to eliminate her and honour his deceased mother’s memory. However, he didn’t count on his friend and roommate Xavier Thorpe being the one to unintentionally get in the way of his mission, by saving Wednesday from the falling gargoyle Rowan had made move using his telekinesis. In the weeks leading up to Wednesday’s arrival, Rowan’s telekinesis had been driving him mad and he was not think rationally. Prior to this, he had been kicked out of secret student society The Nightshades that he had been in with Xavier who was seemingly his one and only friend.
Kent, is a siren and a bit of a third wheel, he often seems on the outer and is displayed as a not a very bright spark. With Rowan describing himself as a outcast among outcasts and Kent seemingly being on the outside among the members of his group, has a bit of a soft spot for him. Kent seeks him out after he gets kick out of the Nightshades.They start spending time together in secret and from there one thing leads to another. The begin a secret relationship and while they know that they will need to be open eventually they are enjoying being in their love bubble and they agree that for the time being what’s important is they are both happy. The last couple of weeks Rowan has been acting erratic, and things only escalate when Wednesday arrives. Rowan is putting his boyfriend on edge and Kent encourages him to seek some help but Rowan starting to like this new side of him, makes it clear that he’s not interested and wants to remain the way he has become. After three months of what seemed like couple bliss, the two teenage boys had finally hit a bump. Kent thought it was best they take a break, he needed to protect his sister Divina and other friends because if Rowan was losing his mind, the Nightshades would be his first target. Rowan reluctantly agrees. On the night of the Harvest Festival, after a talk with Xavier and seeing his secret boyfriend Kent enjoying himself with people who Rowan believed he was meant to be around and feeling like he was better off without him, Rowan sent Kent a break up text making their break permanent. Rowan went for a walk into the woods to clear he head when he bumped into Wednesday (the one person he had agreed to stay away from) causing her to have a vision. As we know following Rowan and Wednesday confrontation and Wednesday nearly being choked to death while pinned against a tree. The monster comes out of nowhere and kills Rowan
