So after seeing the Focal Clear OG's go for approx. $530USD in my country, I couldn't wait to hear what an endgame headphone sounds like ($1000 cheaper than other endgame headphones btw), after only rocking some chifi IEMs and a wf-1000xm4.
They are 55 ohms, 104dB sensitivity. A lot of people including dankpods say that you can just run a dt770 - 80 ohm, 96 dB sensitivity off a laptop/phone.
I wasn't able to find enough information about Focal Clears needing a dedicated DAC/amp so I just went with this logic of it definitely not needing one due to a much lower ohm and sensitivity than the runnable dt770 80ohms.
So I just plugged it straight off my gaming laptop and it was still able to provide a whole new audio experience. From what the reviewers say and measurements show, open backs like the clears tend to have less bass compared to IEMs and closed-backs, but these have the same level of bass as my tangzu waners!? Much cleaner too! I can feel the drivers shaking when watching movies with explosions and such. Though, I can definitely see why people say it has a small soundstage, I expected something like a live performance on a small room but it's just a bubble around my head.
Anyways, I was able to listen at desired volumes, even going above without perceived distortion (I don't have audiophile ears so I might be missing some). But I was definitely able to hear distortion at really loud volumes but I wouldn't listen that loud anyways.
So yeah, I'm wondering, for what reason should I still purchase a dedicated dac or amp, when both of their purpose is already fulfilled by what I already have? Perhaps to boost the soundstage? But from my research, dac/amps that does that cost 2x the cost of my clears... I'd just save up for the HD800s and maybe get an adequate dac/amp, but I would love to hear your guys' opinions.

Didn't think this is what I'd be doing at 4 am, but here I am.
I (29F) do believe in spirits. I'm a RN and have been working in a hospital for 9 yr and have had experience that can't be explained by anything else - I've never seen or hear anything, but stange things have happened. I own my own home and have there by myself with my dog (5F) for 2 yrs. When I dream, I can tell that its a dream - situation and noises are clear and end when I wake.
I say this all to explain why this morning has weirded me out so much.
It was a bit before 3 am when I woke from a dreamless sleep. I'm a light sleeper, so I look to my pup to see if she woke me and then I realized it was because someone (female) was calling for 'Meela'. I startled because the voice wasn't coming from the window (to the right of me), but distinctly from the hallway (to the left of me).
I leave my bedroom door shut out of habit, but I can hear a muffled voice going 'Meela, Meela, Meela'.
I live alone.I don't know a single person named Meela. No one I know has that tone of voice.
I grabbed my phone and typed 911, but paused because my dog didn't stir from her sleep. She's friendly, but she'd react if someone was in the house. I called 911 anyways and they stayed on the line with me while I checked out the house with pepper spray in hand (I'm not trying to be the girl that gets murdered in the movies).
No one is there (thankfully) and all doors are locked.
WTF just happened ? How do I keep it from happening again?
Any advice/input would be appreciated. I'd like to be able to sleep again.

I get hyper fixated on almost every book, show, or movie I watch. It’s really frustrating for me, it feels like my heart is going to explode, I’m stressed, and it’s all I think about! I don’t get any joy out of it… at all. I never do much research on whatever it is because it always makes it worse and makes it last longer. I enjoy books and TV, but I don’t watch TV more than the normal person… so I’d hate to cut down on something that does make me happy in the moment.

I am trying have TMM that the movie automaticly will be renamed/saved to a folder which has the first letter of the sorting title. However in TMM there is only the option for the first letter of the title. But then when you have title called "The Expendable", the first title of the tital is the T and not the E as it would be with the sorting title.

So is there any way in how I can get this "The Expendable" to automaticly to be renamed/saved to the folder calleed E.

Hey! Maybe we have a similar taste in music, movies, series? Perhaps there are similarities between us?

• Other things I do as hobbies are photography, nothing overly impressive, yet a fun thing for me. Well I'd say I'm a bit of a nerd, so gaming in different varieties is always welcome, that's on PC.
  
• Sometime ago I stumbled onto series and movies that are based on Stephen Kings' work. I think his way of using metaphors and analogies to describe and set an atmosphere is fascinating and intriguing. So planning to get a few Stephen Kings books later this month.
  
• When it comes to movies, and series there's a lot that I do enjoy. Thought-provoking and nerve-tingling and psychological stuff such as American Horror Stories, Netflix Series The Mist, Shawshank Redemption and Black Mirror. Other recommendations of mine would be Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead for a chill and punny action-comedy packed evening, emotional movies such as A Silent Voice, which I loved so much. Fun yet real and insightful series such as How I Met Your Mother, The Breaking Bad, How to get away with murder. Been meaning to re-watching Game of Thrones as well as giving peaky blinders a try.
  
• Music-wise, I'd say I like all sorts of things, leaning towards alt-rock/metal, drum and bass, hardcore-punk, a bit of emo and more. Creative, inspiring individuals, artists and musicians such as The Killers, Arctic Monkey, Rise Against, In Flames (Their Album "A Sense of Purpose" is fire), Tool, A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails, Korn, Ludovico Einaudi and many more.
  
• Someone within the EU,- This is due to time zones as well as distance. Although I wouldn't mind if other fellow Swedes oand Northern Europeans/Nordics/Scandinavians see this, though I'm open-minded for other Europeans. It's mostly a question of distance, as well as chemistry, energy and vibe, but also about how we'd suit each other.

I am new to this subreddit and I am sure that my situation is very similar to others. I will give my synopsis below and the advice I am looking for is how to have a calm but FINAL conversation about our non existent intimacy and non existent life together.
I am 45. Hubby 49. Been together for 15 years and married for 12. The 1st 5 years were AMAZING on the intimacy and sex front. We did and still do have no life outside our home as he claims that he has anxiety going out anywhere I suggest. I mention because this does tie into our situation.
In the beginning my husband was always in the mood. Would ask me to send him “pics” while at work. Would take me to adult shops to buy and try new things and wanted to have sex at least 3 times per week.
Because we do not have any social life outside the house together (including him refusing to EVER go on even a 3 day trip to a private beach are where no people would be around to give him anxiety), the resentment on my end began taking a toll on me.
In addition to that, about 5 years ago I started to notice a serious decline in him hugging, kissing, walking up and smacking my booty, etc. Around the same time I noticed that sex had pretty much just ended. About a year into this (on our anniversary), we watched a movie on opposite ends of the couch and he began saying he was ready to go to sleep. Mind you, we PLANNED to have sex that night. I simply went into a spare room and he followed soon after. I was crying and explained that I was so confused on why he basically had nothing to do with me (now both inside and outside the house).
He then broke down and said he had been suffering from ED and that he felt ashamed, etc. I hugged him and told him I was so sorry he had been carrying that around alone. We agreed that he would go to the doctor and be seen, and was given meds to help.
I at that time asked him if it was only the ED or if he had also lost the desire. He assured me the desire was there. In the next 6-7 months, we had sex about once every other week. He was NEVER able to (finish for him), but we did have sex at least.
Well, month 7 comes around and it’s like pulling teeth again for anything. I bring it up and he then says “look, I’m early 40’s and this is what happens and I don’t even have a desire for sex. I was shocked because I had clearly asked him this before and got a different answer. He told me to just accept it.
I was obviously livid. I told him a simple testosterone test could reveal lowT and it would help bring the libido back. He STILL hasn’t gone in.
If I had on a matching bra or panty set in our room he would insist I was laying there “wanting you know what” and he would go sleep in another room.
I know for a fact he is not cheating. I also know that these days I ask when we can do it, he promises next week and it NEVER happens.
Mixing all of the disconnect makes us the equivalent of amicable roommates. He even permanently sleeps in other room. He claims it is FOR me because he snores. I have repeatedly asked him to get back in our room. He says sure and it never happens.
I have for about a year now quit saying anything at all. But I have decided that this is an active choice he is making. It is in no way respectful or the mindset of a husband. And I refuse to live the rest of my life like this.
I am prepared to have a calm, but firm convo for the LAST time to explain that I WILL have a fulfilling life and he needs to step all the way up. I’ve even considered saying that I wasn’t running off to divorce him but I will have my basic nee met somewhere….
And I also get consistent feedback on how I am the only woman he wants to be with and we will grow old together, etc. I mention to say he isn’t looking for an out.
I need some feedback in general and maybe tips on a matter of fact convo.

When I was in high school (2002-2006), I started getting really into J-Horror. For those last two years I worked next door to Hollywood Video and had an unlimited rental membership. I basically rented every single Japanese movie they had, especially the horror ones. The movies I watched during that time are mostly memories to me now, but there's one I've always wanted to track down again, because it stood out amongst the Pulse, Ju-On & Ring's of the time.
Unfortunately, I remember very little else about the movie. I just know it was in an older Japanese village (Think more Edo period, than turn of the 20th century), and there was some mysterious thing killing people. I can't even remember if it was a monster or a disease, but something is pulling me in the direction of disease. I wouldn't say it was a great movie, but I just remember that I found it very interesting because it was different then other J-Horror films I'd been watching.
It's possible the movie is pre-00s, couldn't be newer than 2007, and definitely isn't older than the 80s/90s.

Long story short and as much as it sucks to say, I haven't really experienced much of anything. I'm going to intentionally beat around the bush as to what category that "experience" falls under but I think most people should be able to figure it out lol. In other words (and if you play games), I'm a complete noob when it comes to all things girls. As for why those things haven't happened and why I want that to change.. There's a few reasons, but the main reason why I'm putting such an emphasis on this is because I'm a huge homebody and I don't go out much at all which makes it difficult to meet people. That's where Reddit comes in! The message I'm essentially trying to send is becoming physically AND emotionally close with a girl is what I want the most. I want to experience it all; the laughs, excitement, curiosity, intimacy, hanging out, fun. Experiencing all that for the first time will be the closest I’ll ever get to flying (like a bird, not in a plane 🙃) Blame all the Disney movies I watched as a kid for that lol.
Finding someone would be a dream come true, but I also wouldn't mind striking up a friendship at the same time because that also counts as experience! You can never have too many friends. Local or international, just let me know if that's what you want instead :) And I definitely wouldn't be opposed to a relationship. I've obviously never been in one so I'm not exactly sure how to transition to that, haha. I totally wouldn't mind finding out, though :) Also finding someone to say good morning and night to, too! Alright, I can't hold it in anymore. I pretty much like a little bit of everything. For example, when it comes to music, I go through Backstreet Boys phases to Disney song phases (Moana is awesome and I haven't even seen the movie 🙊) to something like Simple Plan, Paramore or 50 Cent. What I'm trying to say is I like a little bit of everything! The other day I got my stitches removed and a new cast. My foot looked normal like it never broke in the first place. 8 more weeks in the cast I was told.
No one understands how much I am struggling at the moment. I don't really have support around me currently. I just want to go for a walk some days I get so frustrated and just want to walk. No one understands I don't expect many people to understand here either but walking was my only coping mechanism. I have nothing to do I'm at home all day and night in a room 24/7. Yes that's my life currently I play games, watch TV and YouTube. I want to keep busy and do something but I don't know what to do. I'm not interested in art, reading, games there's not a lot I can do besides just sit there and spiral down mentally.
No one, no one can help me. It's the truth not one person in the word right now can help I'm alone. I won't express my emotions too much but I feel like I'm going insane and my mental health is getting worse and worse.
Another 8 weeks of hell and then apparently according to everyone else painful hell forever. What's there to look forward to my walking will never be the same.

This is one of the those rare occasions, when the movie becomes better than the book. They both have different endings. But I liked the one in the movie more.
The book was a boring one for me. The writing style is not interesting to me. I was curious to see how that book would be made into a movie. But the movie was better. The acting and pacing and the tension was all done better in the movie than in the book. But that's not to say the movie is great. It was just ok. Not bad, not great either.

My wife and I have a rocky history and I'm admittedly not the good guy in story, if it were a movie I would view myself as the antagonist in many scenes and most of what I'm writing here are things I wish I could take back. Use the context I'm providing as consideration for the grand view of my AITA question but don't address them as my AITA question -- I know I'm the asshole.
I've spoken to and shared sexual content with women on the internet multiple times, was caught every time, as well as having attempted to cheat (met with someone but didn't touch them) once a year ago while drunk in Vegas for work. My loving wife decided that past all of these issues, after countless days through countless occasions, she'd give me yet again another chance. At this point I think we can all conclude I didn't deserve it and IATA. She requested that I love her right, don't watch any porn (this was another issue in the past that I completely quit for her after a lifelong addiction, which I do feel deserves a LOT of credit for the effort given considering it took multiple attempts, and don't look at other women.
This is where we reach the primary point behind me writing this post. We're a year down the road, I've done everything she's asked and made sure to be as good to her as can be, divorce is imminent due to her final request, no looking at other women. I do not gawk, I do not stare, I look for at most a few seconds with the occasional double take. Never have I done anything that would make the other person either notice or be uncomfortable.
I've also made it a point to not do this in front of my wife (yet she'll still find a woman in public she's uncomfortable with, lock on to my eyes, and if they happen to glance in that woman's direction more than once while I'm scanning -- game over for me.) I'm at the point where I need to stare at the floor because there's a chance that she'll think I'm gawking, yet when I have even the slightest bit of situational awareness I'm "checking out other bitches."
I admitted to her that when at the store, random places in public, etc, I do look at attractive people just like any other person would (she claims she doesn't). I make it clear that it's only when she's not around. I'm not willing to budge on this, and she's threatening divorce if I don't stop "putting other bitches above her."
She claims a big part of this is trust issues from the past I've described above -- I find the two to be irrelevant for anyone older than 12. I never went after anyone I was glancing at, and the correlation is practically non-existent. Should I be a horse with blinders on to save my marriage? AITA?

So, during the entire book or at least the second half, Big Jim Rennie is really thankful for the dome and wants to make sure it sticks around so he can keep doing his evil plans.
I'll be honest I don't have the specifics worked out for this like what he would use or how he would get to a safe part of the dome with fans on the other side when before he was in the middle of it, but just hear me out.
So Big Jim is with the rest of the cast or at least the government, maybe Charlie Cox in particular. He knows they want to get rid of the dome so as like some sort of protest from a newly insane Jim Rennie he somehow tapes or glues or just sticks himself to the side of the dome, he's probably too heavy too but I'm sure there's something that could work that he could get his hands on.
So he's like glued to the dome, screaming about how he doesn't want it to go at the same time Julia convinces the Leatherheads to let them go. As a result the dome lifts... with Big Jim still attached to it, now hollering and screaming about wanting someone to help get him off and save him but the dome whisks itself and him into the sky, never to be seen again.
Or you could even say what is holding him to the dome isn't strong enough but the dome lifts so quickly into the air by the time the glue gives up and he separates from the dome he's falling a big enough drop that will kill him.
I dunno I just thought that would be interesting and satisfying if something like that happened. Yet again I don't know how he'd be able to stick himself to the dome in the first place but still.

I have a love/hate relationship with my mom. She’s had several years of migraines and the pain management, IMO, has affected her mental capacity to hold a conversation. As a result, attempting to hold a conversation is a challenge and sometimes not worth attempting
My mom is also excessively overbearing about her new grandson. And I can understand, my mom only had two boys and now she has a grandson to dote on. Except they’re 2 hours away from us, which I personally like cuz I don’t like spending time with them.
I’ve only been a dad for about a week, and the biggest messages I’ve got from my parents were first when they came up to see my son when he was still in the hospital and I was told by my dad that they felt essentially screwed out of their time with him.
Gimme a break, he wasn’t in the hospital by choice, his blood sugar had to be drawn, we had random ppl coming in and out and there’s family quiet hours I warned my family about but they chose to come by during anyway only to be turned away
Now fast forward a week, the first text I got from my mom was when can we see our grandson again. Not, how are you or how’s your wife just when can we see him again
I tried to address this with my dad in a more tactful manner, my mom can’t take criticism or that ppl don’t want her around which makes having an adult convo impossible.
I tell my dad I want to talk to him privately about some things and don’t want my mom to hear them. Told me to give him a few minutes. We talk, we hang up, was gonna video chat them to show them their grandson…only to find a text from my dad that my mom heard the conversation

For anyone who might tell me to talk about this with my wife since that’s what she’s there for to help be supportive for me. For the record, My wife is a great person to talk to and she and I communicate very well. That said, she did not grow up in that type of family situation and it’s a foreign concept to her so it’s a bit of a challenge for her to wrap her head around, frankly it is for me too
