My wife and I spent 5/24 - 5/31 at Sandals Grand Antigua is a Pool View Room.
Pros

• Airport shuttle to and from the airport was very prompt. No waiting around.
• Beach was beautiful and well kept - no seaweed (we have experience this in Punta Cana, Cancun, etc.).
• The AC in the room was great. Kept us cool when we were in the room.
• Watersports was very fun - sailing, snorkeling, kayaks, etc. The workers were very helpful.
• We went to all restaurants and enjoyed them all.
  • Soy (sushi) was by far our favorite. We went there 3 times. We would go and get a couple rolls (they are only 4 pieces per roll) as an appetizer before wherever we went for dinner.
  • We never had any waits at any restaurants.
• The main "Mediterranean" pool was great. Swim up bar, sloped/beach-like entry.
• "okay" gym. 4 treadmills, some weights and machines. It wasn't too busy when I would go at 630am.
• All of the drinks were very good, but didn't seem very strong. My wife and I aren't heavy drinkers at all, but even we often said "hmm is there alcohol in here"?
  • The Twin Oaks wine brand they offer was very good.
• So many other nice couples there. All other guests were very nice and we made some great friends while we were there.

Cons

• The night "entertainment" was lacking. There was usually a "band", but it was really just a man karaokeing the same songs every night in the main courtyard area.
• We had to purchase a float from the store to use at the beach. All other resorts we have gone to have had these provided. We were surprised Sandals did not have them available
• You MUST get out and save a seat (I would do this at 7am each day) at the pool or beach or you will not have a seat
• Vendors on the beach.
  • Whew. 30 minutes would not go by without someone coming by and asking us if we wanted a bracelet, shirt, tour, ride JetSkis, etc. etc. We have experienced this in other locations, but this was by far the biggest "con" of the trip.
  • Often, these vendors would walk down the beach, in-between chairs yelling out what they were offering. Tough to rest, relax, read, hold a conversation, etc.

Hello, my husband and I were just told that the unit we booked for February and March 2024 is no longer available. We are downhill and cross country skiers. We don’t need to be at the base of the mountain but would like to be within a 10-15 minute drive to downhill skiing and closer if possible to cross country trails. To start I make six figures and I live in a lake house it’s pretty massive at has everything you could ever need in a house, and it’s location is probably the best part of the house. But onto my problem.
My wife (32F) told me that we needed to talk basically she admitted that she had been cheating on me for that past 2 months. She had been feeling guilty and shame for days and that she couldn’t believe what she was doing. To point out my wife is incredibly beautiful. Nice curves and fit body, beautiful eyes and her personality is just someone you wanna be around with. She’s basically someone you can easily have a conversation with. Which is how the affair started.
She met AP at a work party and they flirted and exchanged phone numbers. I knew this because she told me but I took it as a good thing since I wanted her to have friends and have people she can rely on. Flirting turned into sexting then sexting into PA I read the messages it was perfectly clear that she was liking attention but at the same time the messages showed that she felt guilt.
What hurt the most is that AP has been in my home. She assured me that they didn’t have sex and I told her.
“Ha, like that makes everything fu**king better”
Something that really pissed me off is that she once she took my boat for drive with him and they didn’t come back for over 3 hours, she did of course ask and I said yes because at the time I thought they were just friends. She said she just wanted to show him around, and to find out they had sex on the damn boat. I asked her if she still in contact with AP and she said not anymore but at that point I didn’t know what to do anymore because I had so much weight on my shoulders with the 2nd problem I’m about to tell you.
My 2nd problem is that I have or once “had” a friend group straight out of HS back then they would call it a “Guild” or “Brother Hood” I think nowadays it’s called the boys or something sexual like I see in the internet. The group consisted of 5 people.
Thru out the years we kept in contact my house was basically our location to always meet up because I was somewhat in the middle of the map and the easiest place to get to. It was basically our hang spot they would come and they would bring there wife’s/gfs we would have a cookout,go fishing, campfire, canoe, paddle boarding,jet ski. All the activities you can think of we would do it. It was basically like that movie grown ups. That was until I got news that 2 of them had died in service years ago. 3rd one had passed away in a car crash. Then the 4th which was 1 month ago that he had passed away because they had found his tumor late and that he didn’t have much time. I was pretty close with his husband so knowing that he still had him was good.
But now that all this stuff is happening everyday I go to bed knowing that my friends that I considered family are dead and my wife the only person I thought I had support can’t be trusted. I walk around my home and just sit around in silence not knowing that my wife was having a Affair with a man that I let in my home. I just feel really scared of the loneliness and silence. Some days I just go on my paddle board in lay down and drift off into the lake to see what would happened.
Tbh I just wanted advice on what I should do about my situation and the situation with my wife
TLDR: Wife cheated and I found out that I’m the last person alive in my friend group.

My in-laws and my wife are country fans and romanticize everything about the south.
I have never really fully embraced it, neither have our children.
Our oldest just graduated from high school, and now they are making us go to Gatlinburg Tennessee for a week on vacation.
It's going to be a 20 hour round trip by car to go to a part of the country most of us don't even think about, to enjoy a culture we really don't care for.
I thought we got out of it when our van started having mechanical issues and the shop wasn't going to be able to have it done in time for us to go.
But, no. Our in-laws are now renting a car.
So, now I am driving a 20 hour round trip in a rental car full of angry kids that don't want to go.
Sucks that this may be the last trip that we get with our oldest child and it's probably going to be on a low note.
I can't even begin to explain how difficult it has been trying to explain this to my wife and in-laws.
Our trips are usually pretty big, like bucket list big.
Disney World, Disneyland, beaches, major cities, skiing in the Rockie, kids' first experience in a new ocean to them.
From what I can tell we are going to be spending a week in a geriatric tourist trap with a southern drawl.
Now, I like some country music. It's all much older stuff not the formulaic buzzword pop music that's getting churned out these days.
Like Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton and the like. Now, my kids are getting older and they cannot stand country music. Even after explaining who Dolly Parton is and playing her music for them many times, they're not interested.
Apparently 2 of the days are going to be at Dollywood
Sure, 3/4 of the adults going will enjoy themselves. But these vacations aren't supposed to be for the adults and I just don't see the kids enjoying themselves.
Is there any way to make this something they'll enjoy?
I've been trying to play it from a "surprise" angle by not telling them what we'll be doing. But even then they're not enthused about the idea of sitting in the car for 10 hours only to end up in Tennessee.

I’m newly trying out no contact with my parents, at this stage it’s ‘temporary’, at least their understanding of it is - as I asked for a 1 week break from talking to them after I wrote my first ever hostile letter to them. And I’m super confused as to how I will navigate everything going forward. But for the first time in my life I’ve had 3.5 weeks without talking to them (they’re ignoring me also), and I never expected for how it would give me a glimpse into how much easier my life would be if I cut them out. It’s obviously a see-saw of emotions, one minute I’m angry, then I’m peaceful, then I’m guilty and filled with shame, then I’m sad. Mostly anxious tbh. I’d love any words of wisdom on how you think I should navigate this situation with my mother and step father.
It’s a verrrrry long story. I typed it all out and realised there’s no way you guys want to read and wade through all my emotional trauma. But essentially - my mum and step dad have been covertly abusive my whole life. They play the performative role of “we’re the best parents ever, we gave you everything”. When in reality my childhood was super messed up, and I was their accessory that they dragged all over while they did exactly what it is they wanted to do. To my detriment always. I developed extreme anxiety from around 6 years old, but I never knew what it was. Because I wasn’t allowed to go to therapy. The anxiety made me physically ill - which was always a burden on my mum. Why was I making her life hard? I lived in 22 houses, 2 states, 4 schools - constantly moving every 1-2 years when they wanted to ‘reinvent themselves’. Never any stability. I had to fly as an unaccompanied minor from 8 years old every school holidays to visit my dad in another state because they chose to go wherever they wanted. At 17, they left me because I didn’t want to move again. It was right around my final exams. I had a boyfriend I loved and all my friends, so for the first time I chose to stay behind. They didn’t seem to care and off they jetted to a new state and a new life again.
In the 12 years between then, I’ve gone to therapy and I’ve realised I was traumatised. I’ve discovered I have anxiety. I’ve unpacked my childhood trauma. I’ve implemented boundaries. But I have maintained a relationship with them as best I can, I tried to form a version of a relationship I could cope with - but we were ‘playing happy families’ to some extent as I tried to placate them to protect myself. I was travelling all over the country to visit them at their newest homes (always somewhere new every 1-2 years). I would fly, or catch long bus rides, multiple times a year. But it was never enough. And I never seemed to make them happy on the trips. I didn’t do enough fun things, I didn’t drink so I wasn’t cool, I didn’t tell mum her dinners were yummy enough times. I was having massive panic attacks and ptsd when I would see them too.
5 weeks ago I visited them interstate (they live an 8 hour drive home me). I was pleasant on the trip, even when they were overstepping my boundaries - like asking for the 1 millionth time when was I going to have a baby, after me telling them every time I don’t want any. Making comments about how they’ll never be grandparents. Literally rocking up to a coffee shop when they knew I was catching up with a friend, so they could say “Hi” and then also bring up how I won’t have a baby to them. Then they started dropping comments that they had ‘one last adventure in them”. That mum is miserable in retirement so they want to do something exciting, maybe move somewhere new. Then they started dropping jokes that they wanted to switch lives with me. That they would go out with all my friends and go to all my local cafes and bars. That they had been looking into house-sitting in my area. I was horrified, but I tried to joke it off. I left their house and travelled home, with them waving me off in the drive way saying “we’re going to follow you!!”.
I was home for 1 week, and they called me. They said they hoped I wasn’t ‘stressing’ about them potentially house sitting near me. And I tried to explain that I was very busy and wouldn’t have lots of time to see them, they blew me off and said they would have lots of fun things to do without me. I also tried to gently say to them that I was a bit stressed about them potentially permanently moving again. And that every time they’ve made a major move, it’s impacted my life significantly and caused me anxiety. That I felt we never had a ‘family home’. That I wouldn't want them moving to my neighbourhood. They were ‘shocked’ by that, and my mum said “Don’t worry, nothing is changing, we’re not moving anywhere’. End of call.
5 days after this call I get a message. They’ve accepted a housesit, it’s 5 mins from my house and it’s 6 weeks long. They will be here by the end of the month. On top of that, my step dad has applied for a new job, where I live, it looks like he will get it. They’ve decided they will move here and will rent a house around the corner from me - starting after the housesit. So basically they’ll use the housesit as their accomodation while they look for a permanent rental. Next to me. They’ll be living here 3 weeks from that message. They made the decision to move next to me, and executed it, all within 1 month.
I lost it. I had a panic attack. I screamed and cried and mourned my life. I felt like my abusers were closing in on me. I love the life I’ve built here for myself, I’ve lived on the same street for 7 years - how’s that for stability?! I’ve made sooo much progress with my anxiety and boundaries and I felt finally safe and happy. And they’re ripping it all away from me. So I wrote a message back. I didn’t bring up anything from the past, except that when they moved me all over the country as a child, from homes, states and schools - and when they told me they were leaving me to fend for myself at 17 - that those things really effected me. That I had to work through the consequences of those choices and the impacts they had on my life. And that I now had a stable life, and I didn’t want them moving here expecting me to drop everything and give my time to them. That mum’s retired and what is she going to do all day? That I didn’t agree with this decision and I didn’t want them to move to my suburb. And then I asked for a week break from talking to them.
Keep in mind - I don't live in the city I was born in. They have no family or friends here. There is no reason for them to live here except me.
They never responded to my message, they left it on read. They proceeded to plaster Facebook with heaps of posts of the two of them over the next two weeks having SO MUCH FUN! Going to bars and restaurants, sports games etc. I sent my mum a mothers day gift and a message - she wrote “thanks for the gift.” No mention of anything further, no responding to my message.
After 3 weeks my mum wrote “I haven’t contacted you as I understood you didn’t want me to. Can you just let me know you are ok”. No mention of what I said, no updates on what they’re actually doing. Are they still moving here? Did they accept that job?
So the day comes that I know the house sit starts (this past Sunday). My friend messages me that he saw my mum post a Facebook story of a cat and different house that day. It’s the first time my mum has ever posted on Facebook. I have her muted. So that proves they are officially down the road from me at the housesit. My boyfriend looks up on LinkedIn, and my step father has officially taken the new job. They live here now. We still haven spoken. Where do I go from here? I am exhausted. I don’t want to have to live my daily life with them in it. I can’t picture having to have dinner with them regularly or see them at my local shops. What the fuck do I do.

We live in a midwestern state with lots of lakes. We live on a pretty big lake inland. Family member has 19mF, only child. We were all by the lake or on the boat the whole weekend for Memorial Day. Not once did they ever insist their child wear a lifejacket.

Dad came solo out to the lake to take the boat out. (In-laws and parents own it, our property and lake access) We were already down by the lake paddle boarding so we joined for a ride. Dad was driving (his choice) and did the same thing with the lifejacket. My partner got off the boat and went fishing on our jet ski. I have kindly and very directly in the past explained the coast guard and sheriff rules about PFDs.
I should have also left becuase then dad put a bulk of childcare responsibilities on me without mom around(and left behind a poppy diaper on the property not in a trash can) I couldn’t stand by and let him solo take the kid around the lake without a lifejacket.
I feel like becuase I’m not a parent they don’t take my experience seriously.

Landrace genetics express themselves very clearly when used in a cannabis strain creation. By this i mean that if you use a single landrace Genetic in creation of a strain, that one landrace genetic will have more strength to express over other phentypical Expression of hybrid cannabis. Even when you have for example 3 very potent and seemingly stable genetics of indica hybrid origin, the landrace sativa of present will push its expression through the other phenotypes.
Using Orange Runtz as example, agent oramge is a 70/30 indica hybrid, zkittles and Gelato makes rentals another indica hybrid platform. Important is that Gelato has some.ofnthe most stable gentics on the market. I believe I'm still correct in this statement, it may still be true, every phenotype of Gelato created is on the market. Most of the time a single phenotype will win out over others, this is why gg4 is Gorilla Glue no. 4 it was the 4th of several phenotypes.
Gelato has 30 or 40 phenotypes, where the Gelato expression holds true throughout thecrossing, from Bacchio Gelato, jet Fuel Gelato, Gelato Cake, Larry Bird Gelato, accai Gelato, Gelato Diesel, and many others. I include this because itnisnt as though all hybrid genetics are Inherently weak, some have very strong expression like Gelato.

Orange runtz is an example of sativa Landrace genetics breaking through the less stable hybrid Indica Runtz genetic phenotypical expression, this appearing in the profile as terpinolene dominance. Terpinolene is chatacteristic of sativa cannabis, I'll explain this in a moment. Malawi which is an African Landrace Sativa from the Santa Cruz Mountains is the landrave pushing through zkittles and Gelato as well as Agnet Oramge, which itself is a 70/30 Indica dom. HYBRID of strong indica expression.
Another example of this is I believe, imo Is EarthQuake, aka GODS gIFt. IT has a profile that if I did t know from experience I woukd say it has indica expression. There is linalool, beta caryophyllene, humulene, limonene, bisabolol, a ton of characteristic indica terpenes and terpinolene and beta eudesmol, 2 sativa expressing aromatic profiles are tertiary at .05% and .02%. It is a unique profile with terpineol, bisabolol, caryophyllene oxide at .05%, camphene a unique terpene expression. Even the cannabinoid profile expresses as an Indica would according to patterns I've seen in indica cannabis profiles.
That is as CBGA at usually around 1% and CBG in approximately 1/3 of that cbga level around 0.3% for example. While the traditional thinking is indica is typical to produce higher cbd while sativa more potent higher THC. This is true, but it is also true that the patterns I have observed exsist in a majority of profiles. When CBC, CBN, CBCa, CBD, CBDa are present, the tendency is that the expression of the strain is leaning to sativa expression. This seems counterintuitive to that above accepted fact if cannabis.

A Jungle bird however, which is where sativas hail in both hemispheres in Asia and South/Central America is like a tucan it is bright and colorful. It is as such to compete with the vast speciation in jungle enviroments. The cannabis can be thought of in this same manner,, AS IT MAKES THE ANALYSIS EASIER TO REMEMBER.
Cannabis sativa grows tall and lanky to overgrow the under growth. Sativas express more potent aroma as there's more insect life fornterprnes to communicate with and interaction with the plant and competition for the plant. And like indica and desert animals there just less everything. IT makes sense indica is earthy and musky and spicey it is from the desert.
