And when she walked in the fields the corn began to grow tall and beautiful. One year they planted their corn and had gone out to watch it come up, but it didnt come. So they waited a week, and then two weeks, and it still hadn't come up. They then prayed to the Great Spirit and asked where the Corn Woman Spirit was. And he said that he had sent her down two weeks before. Corn Woman was missing. And so the people began to look. They looked all over the earth (known to them at that time,) and they still couldn't find her. So they began to ask the animal kingdom if they would help search for her. The kingdom agreed and the animals began searching for this beautiful Corn Woman Spirit. Then a raven dived down into a dark cave and looked for her. He found her in the bottom of the cave, all tied up. She was captured as a prisoner of the evil spirit Hunger. Hunger was dancing around her and laughing, knowing very well that if she didn't get out, that the Cherokee people would starve the coming winter. So raven went back and reported to the people that he had found the Corn Woman Spirit. And they told the raven that only he and his family could get her free. They told him to go down into the cave and perch on the ledges to hide from the evil spirit. He did just that. He took all of his brothers and sisters into the cave, (as they were so black they couldn't be seen by the evil spirits,) and they perched on the ledges and the rocks. When the signal was given they all leaped down and pecked the evil spirit and made such terrible noises that they frightened him out into the sunlight. And like most evil, when he hit the sunlight he melted away and disappeared. They freed the Corn Woman Spirit with their big strong beaks, and when she walked out into the sunlight the corn of the Cherokees began to grow. From that day forward, the Great Spirit in the heavens would not let her come down in person. And so it is today. She is known by names such as: Demeter, Persephone, Cerridwen, Bride/Bridget, The Callieach (Old Wife), The Corn Maiden. Mother Corn, The First Mother, Selu and Kahesana Xaskwim. I apologize for the vague title, but I don't know how to articulate this frustration any differently. I'm a senior psychology student and I'm looking for a part time job to potentially maintain through my remaining semesters until graduation. I am currently working at my dream job, it's a grant funded program facilitating music-based interventions for residents in nursing homes with dementia. I plan to pursue my doctorate in clinical psych with a focus in neuropscyhology and this position has been an incredible experience all around. Sadly, it is grant funded and we are quickly approaching the end of our grant cycle. Our program coordinator has applied for a massive grant to hopefully sustain us for another three years, but even if we receive funding, it will leave me jobless for 2-3 months. If we don't get it, I'll be forced to find something permanent. I have until mid-July, beginning of August at the latest, to find a new job.
I know I could find a retail job easily, I have over 5 years of experience working beauty retail. I've just become so used to working a non-retail position and the idea of going back sends me into full blown panic attacks.
Here's where I stand currently:
My work history ranges from retail, special needs caregiver, intern at a neurology clinic ( I administered and scored cognitive assessments), and my current position through this non-profit which is half administrative and half working directly with residents. Because I plan to pursue graduate school, I'm also involved in multiple research studies at my university, one of which is self-proposed. I am currently in the data collection stage now and manage a team of five undergraduate researchers. I'm proficient in Excel, Word, Google Docs, all videoconferencing technology, data entry, and I've developed pretty solid administrative skills through my current position. I enjoy working with older adults, but I've been a caregiver before and it was absolute hell.
All that being said, I know that I have a skill set that would lend itself to other jobs outside of retail and caregiving, but I don't know where to start. My current position is hybrid, remote with one day a week (or less) in office. My neurodivergent brain loves remote work, but I know it can be extremely difficult to find part time entry level jobs. My parents,they love me.Especially my mom.All they want is to see their only child succeed in life by being a good student in whichever class i am in.And i delivered,till my very second last year of highschool,i was a pretty good student,even scored a 95 percent in my 10th grade,3/4th of my 11th grade went well.Until at some point,I suddenly started to study more and more than usual,and as a result i started to feel like a champ but that didn't last long,the pressure got me,now I was not even able to concentrate on what i was trying to study because I kept thinking about the rest of the things I needed to cover.I don't know why,but all of this went to a point where i wasn't even sure about the basics of what i was studying,my brain developed a habit of repeating basic things in my mind constantly because of the fear that if i don't keep repeating the same concepts in my brain,I'll forget them,even though I never did,this became a habit,and after that whenever I tried to study,my brain got stuck in a single topic, and started repeating it, thinking about it constantly.This habit still persists to a certain extent but i have calmed myself down ever since and have found solutions to my problem like working out/increasing my physical activity so that my brain remains active.
Well this was one of the major issues I faced in these last 1.5 years.But,in the process of trying to fix myself,i had to try various methods like distracting myself and talking to my friends(i didn't used to talk to my friends that much before all this happened).After taking with them daily for hours, i got too attached to my friends,because I felt at ease whenever I was talking to them.But all of this resulted in a very poor academic performance which left my parents dissapointed.I even talked to my father about the things I started to feel and told him why i wasn't able to concentrate on my studies as much as i used to do.But my father simply replied "it's nothing,you just need to work even harder",my mother however knew that i was feeling low so she encouraged me to have a good time with my friends.My final exams of my final year at highschool were arriving,now i felt like I needed to get serious about studies again,and i started studying a month before my finals,my father as always was hoping for a 90+ performance from me,and i had to assure him that i am trying my best.The results came out after our exams,i scored around 81 percent,i had a neutral reaction to this,and decided to tell only my mom about it.
She reacted positively,and kept on saying that its a good score,i told her that i was at least hoping for 85,but she told me not to worry about it.But my father,he was clearly dissapointed and dissatisfied,he even started to scold my mom for supporting me,he said that he never wanted a "mediocre son" and told me that i ended up wasting my most crucial years.At this point,i had pretty much no motivation to keep going and still tried to calm myself.Now even my mom started to side with my dad.Entrance exams were held,I performed even poorly,got scolded even more,parents had lost all hope in me and my dad even said "i know you'll never be a great person".I didn't qualify to get into any good colleges,and i myself wanted to save and utilise my parents money by getting into a good college.Even after all of this,i continued to do whatever I can and kept on blaming myself.Felt like crying but didn't shed a single tear.
To deal with all of this I talked to my friends about various things and topics to distract myself,i felt as if they were the only ones who could understand me and i developed an emotional bond towards them.But now that i know that whatever problems or insecurities i discussed with them were nothing but another topic to laugh about behind my back,i don't think i can say that they ever actually cared for me,even today i still can't get rid of the feelings that i felt towards them,but as someone with some amount of self respect left in me,i have refrained from talking to them or answering their calls.
As i said earlier,i didn't shed a single tear after all of this,thinking this was just another phase of my life,but today,after collectively thinking about all of this,i started to cry all alone in my room while my parents were asleep in another room,my father thinks that I'll be worth nothing in the outside world.
Sorry for writing such a long story,but i had no one else to talk about this.And even sharing this online doesn't feel very comforting to me. I know that my struggles are nothing compared to some folks and all this might feel a bit exxagerating for some,but this is the first time that i have ever felt this low in my life with a feeling that there's no other options left for me.As for my relationship status,i have been single throughout my life and i have no plans to be getting into relationship anytime soon.

- By default, Apache returns 403 in this scenario. That's significant to me. They've thought about this stuff, and they made the decision to use 403.
- According to W3C, 403 means "The server understood the request, but is refusing to fulfill it." I take that to mean you should return 403 if the URL is meaningful but nonetheless forbidden.
- 403 might result in information disclosure if the client correctly guesses that the URL maps to a real directory on disk.
- http://example.com/files/ isn't a resource, and the fact that it internally maps to a directory shouldn't be relevant to the status code.
- If you interpret the URL scheme as defining a directory structure from the client's perspective, the internal implementation is still irrelevant, but perhaps the outward appearance should indeed have some bearing on the status codes. Maybe, even if you created the same URL structure without using directories internally, you should still use 403s, because it's about the client's perception of a directory structure.

History: Dog, 3.5yo, M/intact, Long haired Dachshund, 33lbs, Used to get bad, tender red rashes on his body - we found out he has a chicken allergy so for the last ~1.5yrs he has only eaten a salmon/sweet potato kibble that has no chicken/chicken by products - rashes have gone away for the most part with a small flare up once in a while - he takes Apoquel 5.4mg tab once per day - he has persistent itching of his face/eyes/snout into any carpet/blanket he can find after eating and at other times of the day, US/Midwest. (Edit to add: he got his heartworm medication on 5/22 and flea and tick medication Bravecto on 5/19, he lives with a senior dachshund who is not experiencing any of these symptoms, he may have been exposed to a puppy with "worms" - did not receive any other information about this)
On Thursday I noticed a "scab"-like lesion on his nose. He went to the vet on Friday and the doctor said it was just a scab and to apply Neosporin. This seemed wrong to me because I would’ve noticed if he scratched himself long before a scab formed. Now it’s Monday and it's only gotten worse - it’s gotten bigger, has appeared on the other side of his nose and the corner of his mouth. Should I go back to the vet? It’s only getting worse. I’m afraid of how bad it can get. This obviously isn’t a scab that formed from an injury, but what is it? He also has a flare up of his "usual" red rash with some scabbing (actual scabbing) near his belly, not sure if related.
