karate for 12 years with a black belt and a couple silver medals at state championships
essays:
deeply passionate about social aspect of mental health, based on my experiences interacting with different age groups through my ecs
aat: essay on social media influencers- went well enough on spot, i had a few good points that i based it on. test was pretty good as well.
interview:
went well id say. they kept saying “if you decide to come here” which has me a little?? a little awkward on one question, but they seemed to be interested in what i was saying.

Hello, I was wanting to become more involved in the community, mutual aid, and organization. But I’m not sure where to find it. I was wondering if there were any opportunities in/around the Indianapolis area.

Are there any FSOs that are former "hood" dudes or street guys? Being a diplomat has always been kind of appealing to me, but I joined the army young and have spent the last few years in security contracting. I have a dual degree in political science and international studies, but have not used it for anything. Even when I was doing my study abroad in Beirut, a lot of the other American students were from schools like Georgetown or George Washington or other big name East Coast universities, while I came from UNM. I know that officially, people with different backgrounds and experiences make it into the Foreign Service, I just don't know if I'd be a good fit. I'm pretty up to speed on current events and US policy, I'm decently educated, have a working knowledge of several foreign languages, and can tell you about the history of a lot of regions and cultures in the world. But on the other hand, I'm a heavily tattooed Hispanic guy from the southwest with an enlisted combat arms/security contracting background. I don't really see it happening. Yes I know there's other careers at State that might be more applicable to my experience like RSO, but being a FSO has kind of been a lowkey dream of mine.

I’m tall, I’ve been boxing for almost 2 decades now and I lift weights. I’m a little bit introverted but do have some extroverted tendencies from time to time. I like to read fiction and non-fiction, poetry is among the things I love to write and I’m also really into anime and gaming (PC, PS5 and Switch). I work full-time (from home) and I’m doing a masters on the side, it gets lonely sometimes having such a busy schedule but I always make time for myself and the people close to me. Any specific reasons classes are so short, it's shorter than than what they were at high school for me in the UK. My lectures here are usually 2-3 hours

This is quite vague, but I'm open to any suggestions.
Demographics: Indian Male
GPA : 3.9 (98.6%)
SAT: 1500 on practice test. Hopefully, I'll be able to boost it as I'll be taking my SAT in August.
APs: Planning on taking Calculus AB and CS Principles next year, followed by Calculus BC and CS A in senior year. I might fit in an additional one.

1. Won a couple of cubing competitions with over 1000 participants.
2. Was the deputy academic head of the school last year.
3. Completed Trinity Grade 2 and Grade 3 in Plectrum guitar and have played in the school band a couple of times.
4. Did a four-hour filmmaking course.
5. President of the filmmaking club at school.
6. I participated in a national level story writing competition after winning first place in my school.
7. I've written a couple of my own screenplays and made a few short films, of which one made it past the first round. (Won two awards: 1. Official Selection at Pinewoods Film Festival and Honorable Mention at Student World Impact Film Festival with over 13k participants.)
8. I've co-written (with the director) a script, and the indie movie based on it is currently in pre-production stage.
9. Currently doing a 50 hours HTML/CSS course while creating a self portfolio-esque website using the knowledge.

Note: Some ECs which I'm planning on doing are not listed here, such as my intention to participate in my school's MUN event (which I will be participating in unless something goes terribly wrong).
I know at this point, you must be puking at my stats, but I still have two complete years till the end of high school, so I can probably boost my ECs.
My intended major is CS and I want to minor in Film Studies.
I want to apply to UCs and maybe T30s (with the intention of boosting my ECs as I know with my shit ECs at the current moment, I'll mostly get nowhere).

I only took cities that could be seen from maximum zoom out. Also disclaimer this was written six hours into a redeye on which I got no sleep.
Anchorage: My knee-jerk reaction was to hate it, but it’s anchor rage. I kinda dig it. Not a lot, though. 5/10
Antananarivo: It kind of flows off the tongue in a way I enjoy. 7/10
Beijing: I’m not a fan. 2/10
Cairo: If it wasn’t a city, it would actually slap pretty hard as a name. 8.5/10
Cape Town: Anything that’s two words is going to be a hard sell to me. 0/10
Caracas: Sounds harsh on the tongue. 3/10
Dakar: Same deal as above, really. Slightly better. 4/10
Delhi: Delly is a name, ish. This isn’t too different. 6/10
Dubai: Sounds like someone is giving instructions on how to leave. “Do bye.” 4/10
Easter Island: Double word, but “Easter” and “Island” are not objectively the worst on their own. 1.5/10
Hong Kong: Another double-barreled one. I don’t like it any better. 0/10
Honolulu: Lulu is an acceptable nickname, so… 7.5/10
Jakarta: Not the worst on this list. 7/10
Lagos: It means lake in some language, probably Spanish. I can’t check; I’m in airplane mode and don’t care enough to edit this once we land. 4.5/10
Lima: Assuming you pronounce it like the city and not the bean, 5/10. 3/10 if it’s like the bean.
London: A real name! Not a name I particularly love, but a name nonetheless. 8.5/10
Los Angeles: Two words, but at least Angel is a real name. 2/10
Mexico City: Two words. 0/10
Moscow: “Cow” probably shouldn’t be a part of a kids name if you want them to make it through middle school unscathed. 1.5/10
New York: Two words. 0/10
Novosibirsk: I almost forgot to write this one. That should tell you my score. 2.5/10
Perth: Don’t like it. 2/10
Recife: I don’t know how to pronounce it without looking it up, but as long as it doesn’t rhyme with “Recipe” this isn’t that bad. 3/10
Reykjavik: Good luck giving this to your kid and expecting them to spell it by second grade. -1/10
Santiago: I think this is actually a name too! 9.5/10
Sydney: This is definitely already a name but I don’t like it as much. 8/10
Tokyo: Sounds like the stage name of an indie keyboardist who makes MIDI music. That said, I don’t hate it. 6.5/10
Vancouver: Fuck it. Why not. This is my son Vancouver. 10/10.

I remember doodling in boring history/literature classes and it was the most fun I've had when drawing. Now that I'm a concept artist for a studio spending most of my time drawing for clients, I get home at night too exhausted to attempt doing anything. My doom scrolling tendencies also contribute to distracting my tired brain.
Furthermore, I miss the times when I had friends in elementary school who truly loved what I was doing and we enjoyed drawing together, but due to circumstances, we've grown apart to the point of strangers now. I feel so isolated having no one to share things with, no joy in drawing. Communicating is not my strength, so I have limited medium of expressing myself. Now I can't even enjoy creating things, I have no way to connect to other people whatsoever, whether irl or online. Seeing other people being able to draw and communicate so freely and joyously makes my brain screams inside.
I just don't know what to do, my brain feels too foggy..

I’ll go first! I don’t ever shop at White Feather in Raglan. Owner is an absolutely terrible person. I worked there in High School and she used to take our tips, refreeze raw chicken, swear at staff, and follow suspected shoplifters in her car. Not to mention they lie about free rage chickens (in cages all their life) and the only thing they make themselves are the fritters.
Also Durham Golf. Their owner is obviously on blow every time I go in there, and they so rude if you ask to play disc golf… even though it’s on their website…

i (f19) broke up with my boyfriend (m22) the last few days of august planning to never see him again. we were engaged and living together, and i came home packed my bags and moved into my parents house in a different part of the state. he was asking for an open relationship just to “hurt me enough to make me care” about our sex life which i told him the first time i wasn’t okay with. i felt like i couldn’t satisfy him, like even when we did have sex it wasn’t good for him, so when i was drunk over a full month later i slept with someone i had mutually assured destruction with (if i had a panic attack, he wouldn’t be able to tell anyone because then i would’ve told people about the time in high school that he couldn’t get it up). i was not “talking talking” to him at any point before or after, and afterwards i actively ignored him. i just wanted to pop my post breakup anxiety cherry and he had served his purpose, i didn’t want anything to do with him past that (he’s a known player so i didn’t feel bad)
fast forward from october to february, my boyfriend and i got back together. i asked him what his standard was for people we talked to while apart (i should mention he was talking to people + hanging out with them within days of our two year relationship ending), and he didn’t really have an answer. i said personally i didn’t care if they were blocked or following his socials, just that i wanted a standard unfriend unfollow unadd don’t-talk-to-them approach, which it turns out we’d both already done. i got rid of everyone who had even so much as called me attractive one time. in a different conversation weeks later i was talking about someone who i hadn’t flirty talked to, but he’d known was blocked while we were together. he then made a comment about the person id used for sex, saying he bet they got off my blocklist too and that he was probably the first person back on my shit, to which i replied that “nah, him and my best friend are off on their own tangent of on and off talking” (which is true, i didn’t know til after that she’d had feelings for him). he then essentially interrupted to apologize for being salty about it. when it was time to hang up we both asked if we were okay, and he said we were but that for the time being he’d appreciate if i didn’t talk about anyone that i was involved with because he doesn’t like what his brain does with that information.
then just two weeks ago, he was drunk on the phone with me and said if i’d messed with people we knew during our past relationship it’d break him and he didn’t know how he’d recover from that. but that sounds like people we were friends with, not just people we knew of, and i didnt talk to or mess with any of our past friends or acquaintances. the fact is thought is that the guy i messed with he hates, but it was a 5 month breakup during which i had no plans of returning to him. now i feel guilty for him not knowing and like i lied about the block list, but i don’t know how accountable i should be to my boyfriend who i wasn’t even in contact with at the time. it also feels like he specifically asked to not know with his thing about “i don’t like what my brain does”. he has come to me about things he’s insecure with since we’ve gotten back together and we’ve talked them through, and id be just as honest with him about this if he wanted to know what i did in our time apart.

Personally, I never really cared what the reviewers were going to say about Dial of Destiny. I’ve been very excited to watch it since the start!
Indiana Jones, like Star Wars, has been a comfort movie for me ever since I was a kid. I love all FOUR movies despite all their flaws. And I’m excited to finally see the Young Indiana Jones series for the first time.
And honestly, I’m just so grateful I’ll get to see Harrison Ford play Indie one last time on the big screen. I just love that he still gets to play that role even into his 80s. Looking back at the rumor that Chris Pratt was in talks to play Indie (or anyone else for that matter) I think I would have been more nervous going into it.
I’m just ready to be transported back into that world again!!
