2023.05.31 16:49 Keyven17 27/ looking for friend with similar interests/ PC
Im looking to meet a good pal to play games with on PC regularly and be good friends in general, I play a lot of different games, right now though ive mostly been playing SMITE, gunfire reborn, RoR, and warzone 2.0. I'm mostly on after 5 Mountain time on weekdays but on almost all day on the weekends.
I'm looking to find people to play games like (in no particular order) :
- smite
- smite ranked (I feel like it's a different game, I'm plat 3)
- Dark and darker (whenever it's around)
- Across the abolisk
- Company of Heroes
- Company of heroes 2
- fight crab
- endless legend
- Parkitect
- phasmophobia (I find it a little boring but I goof around and have fun for a bit)
- risk of rain 1
- risk of rain 2
- Slay the Spire (apparently there is some coop mod so that could be interesting)
- pummel party
- Gunfire reborn
- tabletop simulator
- Zombie Army 4
- Killing floor 2
- Overcooked 2
- Plate up
- Evil west
- Fury unleashed
- We were here
- gloomhaven
- baldurs gate 3
- Orcs must die 3
- Ready or not
- for the king (the rng is so dumb in this)
- remnant from the ashes (except im pretty high level and would like to be around the same level as you and do nightmare difficulty or willing to restart even if we hit it off after a while)
- 7 days to die (I've never played it and ideally neither have you)
- Terraria (I've made it kind of far in it previously but then ppl stop playing u know how it goes so I'd only be willing to do this one after we have known each other for a bit)
I also enjoyed games like raft, valheim, and the forest but I wouldnt go back to those as I've already played them a ton (maybe the forest with the right person)
but im down to play a ton of other games too, im probably missing some on that list, I love coop games, I just don't have anyone consistent to play with. Preferably we have more than just one game in common so we aren't just playing one game, and again I may have not mentioned everything so I'm open to other suggestions too.
When it comes to coop progression games I like to both be pretty new to it, I don't like if you already have 280 hours in a coop game and I'm brand new.
I also like watching smash melee tournaments and keeping up with it lol. I can't figure out how to get slippi to work so I can't really play lol but I'm not very good anyway.
Ideally we'd start off with with playing some non committed games first like risk of rain or gunfire or smite or warzone and then we can move on to real coop stuff 😁
Some games I
DON'T play are:
- dead by daylight
- Valorant
- csgo
- apex
- OW
- r6
I'm pretty laid back and friendly but I still like to get hyped up, meme, and have fun playing and goof around and make obscene jokes, I like competitive in games more but I am down for just casual play as well. I like to win but I'm not going to rage or cry if we lose 😅
I enjoy banter, dark humor, uh being
BASED and lighthearted trolling / trash talking but never to the point where it's super toxic, I have pretty thick skin and I would even say I would enjoy you shit talking me. So ideally looking for someone with a similar kind of vibe. Also be 21+.
Music I like: Cage the elephant, AM, Foster the people, Ok Go, the strokes, MGMT, Brad sucks, alvvays, Nas, YEEZY and other random things (we don't have to like the same music to be friends obviously, just something more about me, if we do that's pretty cool)
Shows: It's always sunny, parks and rec, breaking bad, death note, 30 rock, stranger things, Malcom in the middle, scrubs (again this doesn't matter to be friends, just something extra about me)
Politically I am more left leaning but I don't really care as long as you aren't weird one way or the other.

2023.05.31 02:50 JicamaActive Video game performance to iq correlation
Just for fun, doesn't have to be a serious answer, but I'm wondering what's the correlation. I read an article where pro ssbm(smash bros melee) players have, on average, more IQ than fgc players. I assume the harder the game is to master, the more IQ is required to do well? My IQ is average and I usually average in at least the top 50-10% of games I play. smash ultimate - on elite smash with every character, also took sets off pro smash players in my region. Melee - gold 1 on slippi. Valorant - peaked plat 3.MW2 ranked - gold 2

2023.05.03 13:39 MrRoloSSBM Slippi Stats
Does anyone know of a program that tells you your total stats of ranked and unranked? Like how many total hours played, how many hours playing each of the characters? How many times you played on each stage? TOTAL win percentage and such? Haven’t heard of anything, I know there is a Slippi Wrapped and Project Clippi but that’s not what i’m looking for exactly, the main reason I want this is because I’m a random main and I wanna see my total hours played on each character and which characters I’m neglecting haha

2023.04.28 22:17 carmat71 FPL Swiss KO Cup Round of 32 & League Update (GW33)
| Good evening everyone! I've been pushing to get this update out as I know some of you are really keen to see how you performed in your KO Cup match and who you might play next. Before that, though, I'm going to rotate this and update you on the FPL Swiss League Final Stage. Swiss League - Update In the previous post, we saw that u/bumfluff17 had taken an early run at the top, and that run has continued as he's now 3/3, and sitting pretty. Unfortunately, after 3 losses, u/HomePrimo is out of contention for the overall title, but they're not going down without a fight. In the middle of the pack u/wo27 and u/FPLIntellect can both reach 3x wins. However, with both having already lost to u/bumfluff17, each by a single point, it means they cannot win the title due to the H2H tie-breaker. That only leaves u/ThisIsC6 and u/eglantinel remaining as contenders on 2x wins each, the latter of which has already lost to our leader, so will have a little extra work to do and hope results go their way elsewhere. Division 1 - after 3 matches KO Cup - Round of 64 Results GW33 results are in, and here are the results for the Round of 64. https://preview.redd.it/mlla3cz5iowa1.png?width=2042&format=png&auto=webp&s=0980e31133ca67b40cd064f672f94bcd1a8c9265 KO Cup - Round of 64 Results The eagle-eyed among you will notice that we have 2x draws, meaning we have to revisit the tie-breaker conditions outlined a few weeks ago. Tie-breakers will be decided as follows: - Most goals scored - Least goals conceded - Overall Rank - Lowest FPL ID (impressive if it gets to this stage) With that in mind, let's break down our draws between u/KynkAcct v. u/dom91932 and u/MidfielderTam v. u/SlippyG2014. u/KynkAcct v. u/dom91932 Player | GW Net | Goals Scored | Goals Conceded | KynkAcct | 62 | 2 (Rashford, Haaland) | 19 | dom91932 | 62 | 2 (Rashford, Haaland) | 16 | Winner: dom91932 u/MidfielderTam v. u/SlippyG2014 Player | GW Net | Goals Scored | Goals Conceded | MidfielderTam | 56 | 1 (Haaland) | - | SlippyG2014 | 56 | 2 (Haaland, Rashford) | - | Winner: SlippyG2014 It is worth noting that MidfielderTam unfortunately had Rashford first on his bench. KO Cup - Round of 32 Draw Best of luck to everyone still involved. KO Cup - Round of 32 For those who would like to have a look around, you can find all the data here. 2023.04.27 00:38 WeirdPumpkin What's the lowest rank on Slippi anyway?
Asking for a friend...
In all seriousness though, people in ranked are so insanely much better than me universally. I've won a single round, and currently falling through bronze 1. Talk about demoralizing!
the struggles of a new player. Maybe I'll try a different character, as much as I love captain falcon maybe he's just not for me

2023.04.22 19:35 Nejums I really like Overwatch, but I have three problems that keep me from believing this game wants me to do better in Comp...(Also there should be a Voice Chat Join Toggle button)
Hi!
I’m not new to the Overwatch community, I’ve played since the Beta, but I am new to spending any significant time in ranked.
Mostly I play other games like League of Legends and Rainbow 6 Siege, but the relatively fast nature of matches in Overwatch keep me coming back. However aside from the Matchmaking and the mere existence of push maps there are some major problems I have with the competitive mode.
As a personal philosophy I don’t play ranked in any game where I would not want myself as a teammate and as such I behave how I would want someone on my team to. Always looking for ways to improve and spending time reflecting on what I could have done in bad situations to make them better.
When there is a close loss I tend to spend a lot of time on the post game screen investigating the stats and taking in all that happened.
After spending one solid season playing the crap out of this game (made it to over lvl 300 on the battle pass) I can safely say this game is not very friendly to people who want to do better.
So let’s start by talking about the Stat Screen
The post game stat screen goes away WAY too quickly and there is no way to look it up after. Secondly if you want a hope of seeing those stats in any way you have to hope that the replay populates at some point, then wait the ungodly amount of time it can take to populate the game again (compared to just clicking on a results screen) and then scroll to the end of the game. Third even then, unless you take out pencil and paper and fight with the slippy controls it is impossible to get a clear overview of the flow of the game.
Who picked what when? When did they switch, what to and how effective was it? When I picked Zen was my healing better or worse than when I was on Lucio? The ending game heal stat reveals none of that.
And heaven forbid someone disconnects. For some reason all their stats vanish, but this isn’t Quick Play, the only person that can return to that slot is the player that left, so when someone leaves and comes back and only has 1000 healing in eight minutes it paints and unclear picture of what happened. That’s all before I begin to lament how there is no way to track how the enemy players were doing. Did the enemy Hog land more hooks than me? Am I doing worse in that regard or better? Unless I want to go into the replay and physically count them there is no way to know.
Even if the change was mid game where I could click on any player to see all the heroes they had selected previously during the match. After a few hundred games of Overwatch it all starts to blur together and it’s helpful to be able to access a reminder while you’re picking a character. It exists on the endorsement screen, just slide those stats to the menu. It could even replace the little character stat screen to the right of the scoreboard that inaccurately tracks random data (Like my shot accuracy when I was checking for a Sombra all game >.>) This could easily be handled in functionality like Rainbow 6 where if you have the scoreboard pulled up and you want to interact with it you just middle mouse click.
The same scoreboard with all of this useful data should exist in my game history where I can quickly look and assess what happened.
And speaking of looking and quickly assessing something.
The HUD.
For what it is it’s technically fine, however I don’t think I’ve ever played a game that requires so much spatial knowledge but gives you so few tools to work with.
Okay so for DPS and Support this isn’t as big a deal, it can be but overall it’s fine, for Tank this shit is abysmal, a problem made doubly so by the fact that they are the most impactful member of your team and there is only one.
Okay so for other metal rank Supports out there you know the situation, the fight is getting tough, the enemy team is pushing up and a Reaper flanks the absolute dog shit out of you. You ping, you shout into a team chat that only has the other screaming Support in it, you die. Allied Tank in that time has pushed up, gotten rocked and is now spam pinging ‘I Need Healing’ to a dead Zen and Mercy.
Now nothing can account for stupid, there will always be the Rein who goes down to 20 health and when presented with the option of heeding the FALL THE F**K BACK pings or pressing that sweet, sweet charge button will pick the second option and pop like a balloon on a cactus farm. However for the others the HUD could be an easy way to counter that.
Imagine if you will, you are on Tank, and on the left side of your screen (or top or wherever makes you happy) is a list of your comrades. Ones highlighted in white are near you, ones in grey are not, and even more helpfully you can see their health (and, heaven forbid, ult charge without having to cover your whole screen to check). If you are a rarely seen Rein without a death wish you can at a glance see that while you might be low, your Mercy and Lucio are nearby, you throw up your shield, let them heal you and then charge in.
On the other hand you could be this same rare Rein, see Lucio is nowhere near and Mercy’s health is dropping consistently while one of your DPS is dead. Might be time to turn around and see what’s actually happening because clearly whatever you are planning to do is not what is on everyone else’s mind.
This would allow for much better understanding of what is going on ESPECIALLY since in first person it is almost natural that you get tunnel vision. Some might see this as an expression of skill, but I see it as a deficiency that other players have to make up for. There are genuinely good Reins and Doomfists out there, but outside of the abysmal MM putting them up against first day players those good tanks need a decent team to be able to do their job. Mediocre ones need godlike Supports and DPS to come in and save them from bad calls.
I have often heard the counter argument of ‘Just use voice chat’ but that isn’t realistic. Some people are playing music, simply not listening, unironically hard of hearing, out of voice chat to correctly prevent hearing rage, slurs and other tilt inducing phrases, ect so let’s not count on that.
Especially since push-to-talk can be difficult if you are already using both hands to try and stay alive, only free after you’re dead to alert the team, or open mic which tends to come with an amount of noise that makes everyone mute you before the match has started.
The core of this problem is it breeds Tanks who, to their limited view and available information, did everything right and their ‘shit team’ let them down when the reality is all they had to do was turn around and deal with what was going on right next to them.
Given all the things someone is meant to look at in a fight I think it’s rather insane for the options to know who’s alive on your team is to know the exact moment they die and catch it in the feed, (a feed that includes shit like D.VA’s mech and Bap’s lamp) or cover your whole screen with the scoreboard and take a few seconds out of your life and death battle to check and see the situation.
Though they are very different games with very different flows in both League and R6 I know who is and is not up at a glance and it’s strange to play a game that is so dependent on that moment to moment knowledge to not have it more readily available.
Lastly Voice Chat Menus
This is a minor gripe in the face of the other two, but if someone is being toxic, or if I’m not in Voice Chat and very quickly have a reason to be I should not have to click through two menus to deal with the issue.
Not to mention how impossible it is to quickly tell if the tank you are talking to is in the chat or not.
Put that information on the scoreboard with a little icon that I can interact with. Mute or unmute chat/voice and a button to join exit Voice Chat.
But if I could only have one thing it would be a hotkey toggle for voice chat.
…
SERIOUSLY THERE SHOULD BE A HOTKEY TOGGLE FOR LEAVING THE VOICE CHAT AND MUTING A PLAYER SHOULD NOT BE TWO MENUS DEEP!

2023.04.16 21:57 MadMoneyMan23 Slippi Low Rank in Ranked
I was wondering if it was worth spending the $5 on Slippi subscription to play ranked. I'm a beginner so I would be very low-ranked.
Would I even be able to find matches in a timely manner if I was to be in these lower ranks?
If not, I'm probably not gonna spend the money on it. I would assume the people spending money on Slippi would be higher ranked players so I'm unlikely to find people close to my skill level.
UPDATE: I’ve decided to spend the $5 on it, my record is 0-8 lol, I’m very new to the game so I’m just getting rolled left and right. Queue time are good, and I’m in bronze 2, and despite that still going against people who are definitely many tiers above me.
This is the only game where I’ve ever wanted to be ranked low haha.

2023.04.16 11:05 Ok_Self_5981 Why is this game so hard for me
I'm not even at the level of punishes or neutral even mattering for me. I've played 1600 games of Falcon on ranked and jesus fucking christ is his jumpsquat impossible to get used to for me. 6/10 times I'll stand there like an idiot throwing a jab or upsmash/forward smash because this motherfucker won't get off the ground. The biggest issue is dash attacking. holy fuck. I wanna running nair, but nah ima just hit this marth like a football player and get punished for 80%. My question is, why am I not getting used to these mechanics yet?
My entire focus is on execution/timing but I feel like this is something you just feel out instead of directly practice. I mean do I just practice jumping with falcon on FD for 2 hours a week or something? Do my hands just have no coordination? Cause another issue I have is my left hand control in general. SO MANY TIMES, I'll just fall to my death offstage cause I'm consciously trying to flick my l-stick up to jump but it's in an awkward position so it doesn't do anything.
I also struggle a lot with spotdodges/rolling. Like, how do people know exactly when to input a direction/when you're not "in shield" still. Cause visually, you have no shield anymore but youll still roll, etc.
Another problem is jumping out of dash dance. I think I miss the jump 4/10 times in game and I dunno how its possible? I looked it up and it said its from jumping directly on the frame of the turn, but I sincerely doubt I'm doing that perfectly so often.
My biggest issue though is turnaround frames. My lordy, so many times I just nair in the direction opposite of the other player like I'm trying to avoid eye contact. And I can see Falcon physically turning around for a millisecond before he snaps back. I just don't know how practicing these things will help when these inputs have to be so frame perfect. It doesn't feel achievable without the right intuition.
Actually no, my biggest biggest issue is teching. When I fight spacies I'll miss techs for like 70% of the game cause I keep gettin hit by nairs/dash attacks and my reaction time is too dogshit for those low knockback hits
I've literally never been hardstuck in anything in my life before and this game is beating my ass so hard I'm questioning my existence as a whole cause it also feels like the game I've put effort into the most.
Edit: I just went into training and tried to replicate my mistakes but I literally can't accidentally dash attack unless I click both a and y at the exact same time. How am I doing it so much in game? Like it feels physically impossible to slide my thumb that quickly. Not blaming slippi/controller issues, but am I just rushing?
Edit 2:Nvm, often I'm just sliding off Y too fast without even clicking it. I'm actually so shit LMAOOOO. Looked it up and seems like no one has this dash attack issue, I'm special in the worst way
